The tropical royal flycatcher is native to most of Central America, including our reserve. It has a dark brown upperpart, decorated with narrow black and yellow-brown stripes on the lower back. The tail feathers are cinnamon reddish and become browner towards the end of the tail. This bird is particularly characterized by its erect, fan-shaped crest.
