This past year we’ve seen more orphaned wild cats than ever before, due to deforestation and the pet trade. Wildlife trafficking has increased, but as the only carnivore rewilding center in Peru, we are also receiving calls from government entities across the country who are turning to us for cat-specific cases. As we speak, we are coordinating the rehabilitation of two wild cats that needed urgent care: a 7-month old jaguar from the mining zones of Madre de Dios, and a 6-month old ocelot seized in the city of Lima
