Researchers found out that the contribution of carbon from dead woods is bigger than all fossil fuels together. It is known that forests take a lot of carbon out of the air, but now it also became clear how the decay of wood emits carbons. It is mostly coming from insects that are doing important work and the emission is the biggest in tropical rainforests.
