The days of Spain’s highly controversial "gag law" are numbered. The UN and the European Court of Human Rights say it encroaches on fundamental human rights. Ione Belarra, the leader of Spain's Podemos party, called it "the greatest blow to civil and political liberties” since the country’s return to democracy.
